This Haswell headjoint was one of our first and has been enjoyed for several years by its original purchaser. However, he has forsaken the flute for his sax, so we have agreed to find it a new owner.

The headjoint has a full silver lining, in the manner of Rudall Carte, which gives a greater power while maintaining warmth and that rich sound. Condition is excellent. The cork assembly is a copy of a Rudall Carte, that is a wooden block lapped with cork, with a threaded end that screws into the crown.

We have taken the opportunity of updating the lip-plate and embouchure hole to our latest specification, incorporating all that we have learnt in the years since we originally made this headjoint. The result is a powerful, warm sound, with just a bit of resistance to give the player something to work with. We believe this is one of the finest of our headjoints.

The headjoint is sized for, and would be the perfect upgrade for, a Rudall Carte. We can also supply a grenadilla collar to fit over a Carte's top tenon cork.
