Dating from between 1838 - 1852, this flute has delightful engine turning decoration to the crown, foot, and ferrules. There are no cracks in the body and foot, the toneholes have not been altered, and the keys are all in good order. The embouchure bush gives an easy and big sound, which is rich and consistant down to a strong low D. The footjoint pewter plugs work to low C.
Length: 66.8cm
Pitch: comfortable at modern pitch A=440 with tuning slide out approx 10mm.
This is a lovely playing flute that we have been pleased to bring back into good order. It comes in a large old wooden box.
